Spread the Word!
We want YOU! Please Help Spread the Word About ProductCamp Boston!
ProductCamp is all about YOU. Together, each of us helps to make ProductCamp a great success. Of course you know you can attend ProductCamp and speak, facilitate, participate, help set up, etc. And you know you can learn and share a lot about how to conceive, build, manage, and market products and services. But did you know that you can also help in another important – and easy – way?
You can help spread the word!
The more people who know about ProductCamp Boston, the more attendees, speakers and sponsors we’ll all bring into ProductCamp Boston. More people means more community, more excitement, and a better ProductCamp experience for all of us.
So, without further ado, here is a list of best ways you can help spread the word. Feel free to pick and choose things you are comfortable with:
1. Invite your product management and product marketing colleagues. There is no better way to spread the word that reaching out to your existing network. Here is a sample invitation email you can use to create your own (or just copy and paste it…no copyright laws here!)
2. Reach out to product management & product marketing professionals in your LinkedIn groups. We’ve found the posting “discussions” doesn’t get much of a response, so we’ve been doing advanced searches for product folks in our groups and personally inviting them with a private message. You can use the same sample email as in #1 above.
3. Write a blog post about the event. Talk about what you hope to learn. If you’re leading a session, talk about your session or presentation. Let us know if you need possible material to write about – Email us at productcampboston@gmail.com.
4. Read any blogs? Ask those bloggers to post about the event. You know that product managers are information thirsty – we read everything we can about business strategy, innovation, product development etc. And we’ll be discussing all those things too, so bloggers are just helping their reader community by mentioning the event. Here is a sample of the blogger email we’ve been sending.
5. Join our social networking groups. By joining these groups (provided you already belong to the sites), you generate a feed item that is seen by everyone you’re connected to.

6. Follow us on Twitter http://twitter.com/PCampBoston. You can also tweet that you are attending the event, retweet us, or include our hashtag if you mention anything ProductCamp related (#pcampboston)
7. Add ProductCamp to your email signature. You never know who’s reading to the end of your emails, and who they may know. Mentioning ProductCamp in your email signature is like free advertising! An example, “By the way, are you going to ProductCampBosotn in April? It doesn’t cost anything. I’ll be there: http://www.productcampboston.org”
Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
Cheers,
The ProductCamp Boston Marketing Team
P.S. Thanks to the ProductCamp NYC team on whose Web page this is based.
