The following information will help you to get the most out of your ProductCamp experience.

Plan Ahead for the Best Experience  

This very long webpage contains a lot of important information. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with all of the information contained in this important email. 

Each year is unique. Because ProductCamp has grown, we’ve made changes from last year, such as moving the session schedule, proposals/pitches and voting entirely online.


  • Location – One Memorial Drive. Go to guard desk in lobby, then take elevator to first floor registration.
  • Important times
    • Registration/light breakfast: 7:45 am
    • Program starts: 8:30 am
    • Lunch: 11:30 am
  • Bring a laptop/tablet/smartphone – to see the online schedule.
  • Schedule – online only – This year’s breakout session schedule will only be available ONLINE – please bring a laptop, tablet and/or smartphone so you can see the latest schedule anytime.
  • All session proposals and voting take place online on UserVoice.

Got Pictures?  We’re building a picture gallery on Facebook. Upload your pictures to your Facebook page, go to the ProductCamp Facebook page, click on the “Photo/Video” box and select the pictures you’d like to add.  We’ll even add some of those pics to the PCamp website for everyone to see!

Schedule: Doors Open at 7:45 am

A full day of keynote, sessions, networking and more!

Schedule in brief – Registration and networking will start at 7:45 am, our program will begin at 8:30 am, and conclude by about 3:00.  We promise we’ll make it worth your while to stick around until the end.  Check out the Schedule At-A-Glance page and the session grid for details.


Where are we???? ProductCamp has grown, so this year, we’ll be in 2 different parts of the Microsoft NERD Center at One Memorial Drive, so you’ll have plenty of space to spread out and network!

  • First floor: (one floor up from the lobby):
    • Registration, 7:45 – 8:30 am
    • Light breakfast and networking, 7:45 – 8:30 am
    • Sponsor booths, all day except lunch
    • Most breakout sessions
  • Floors 10/11 (enter thru floor 11) – the Commons area
    • Opening session – 8:30-9:20 am
    • Lunch, 11:30 – 12:20 pm
    • Smaller discussion breakout sessions (conference table-style, with projectors)
    • Informal breakout spaces
    • Closing session, 2:30 – 3 pm

What to Bring/What to Wear

Be prepared and be comfortable

  • Business cards
  • Laptop/tablet PC
  • Smartphone/cell phone
  • Comfortable clothes – jeans are fine

Bring a laptop/smartphone/tablet – WiFi will be available; You will need your laptop/tablet/smartphone to access the schedule online.  Also, we encourage everyone to blog, tweet, and upload content during the event!

Speaking of WiFi – When you get to Microsoft Cambridge, connect to the “Cambridge” wireless network, then open an Internet browser.  You’ll be redirected to a logon page.  We’ll have the code for you on Saturday.  

Bring business cards – There is plenty of opportunity to network at ProductCamp. You can also use your card to enter in the give-a-ways.

What to wear – Relax – it’s the weekend.  Be casual and comfortable!  Expect to do some walking since ProductCamp is taking place on multiple floors this year.

We’ll be following a similar process to last year for the schedule.

Welcome to our unconference!  ProductCamp is a user-driven “unconference.”  That means you’re in control. By now, many attendees have voted on UserVoice for the sessions they most want to hear.

Session schedule grid is online – To make it easier for everyone to see the schedule, we’ve moved the session schedule ONLINE at productcampboston.org/grid. By 2 pm on Friday, you will be able to see the entire schedule grid.

Breakout session descriptions – View all session descriptions at pcampboston.uservoice.com.


Remember – Session proposals and voting are entirely online at pcampboston.uservoice.com.  The sessions with the most votes will be accepted.  Due to the overwhelming response to lead sessions, not all sessions will be selected.

Scheduling – Rooms – In general, your session will be scheduled into a room based on how many people we expect to attend, which is based on our past experience and the number of votes – i.e., more votes = bigger room; fewer votes = smaller room. We’ll make every attempt to avoid conflicts between sessions on similar topics but we can’t make any guarantees  If your session is more discussion-based, we may schedule you into a smaller informal room without a projector. 

Audio/Visual – Most of the rooms have projectors. If you have a Mac, please bring a VGA adapter.

A/V Issues – If you run into AV issues, please ask an attendee to go to the receptionist on floor 1 or 11 and they will help you or get an AV person.

Questions – Please email us before Saturday and/or stop by the speaker desk next to registration when you check in on Saturday morning.  Look for Bruce McCarthy, our sessions lead if you have questions.

If you’ve signed up to speak or volunteer with registration, setup and cleanup, you may already have received an email from one of our team leads, Roy Median (registration) or Sarela Bliman-Cohen (setup/teardown). If you still have questions, please email ProductCamp Boston. If you haven’t heard from us but would like to help, just let us know when you check in.

Remember that ProductCamp is run by a small group of volunteers – please help out wherever and whenever you can.

Directions, Subway/T, Parking

Microsoft has several locations in Cambridge – ProductCamp takes place at One Memorial Drive

The T (Subway) – Kendall Station on the Red Line

IMPORTANT – If you take the T to Kendall Station, the Microsoft office you will see when you exit is NOT One Memorial Drive.  Simply walk on the right side of Main Street toward the Longfellow Bridge and the Charles River (please don’t cross the river).  The next driveway on your right after the MIT Sloan School will take you to One Memorial Drive.  Find directions here.

Construction Update

Microsoft Cambridge is convenient to the T and major highways.  Allow extra time due to construction on the Longfellow Bridge.  The Longfellow Bridge will probably be closed for cars going from Boston to Cambridge.  However the T is running in both directions over the Longfelllow this weekend.

$10 Parking at One Memorial Drive

Garage parking is available at One Memorial Drive for $10.  Yes, $10 (it’s Saturday even in Cambridge).  The easiest way to get to the garage is to take Main Street toward the river and turn right onto Memorial Drive.  The parking lot is right after the building.
