How to Propose a Session in 6 Steps

So you’ve looked at this site, been to ProductCamp before, or you’re simply adventurous. You want to lead a session at ProductCamp. What’s next? Here is a quick how-to-guide on how to propose a session at ProductCamp Boston.

  1. From your registration, indicate that you want to volunteer by checking the “Run a session” option. Then fill out the fields regarding session:  Session Name, Description, Session Category, and Bio.  If you have already registered without checking this option or before this option was available, you can login and edit your registration here.
  2. Do market yourself, if you like! You can post some ppt slides that illustrate the nature of the proposed session to the Brainshark space, to share your idea. This is not homework, it doesn’t need to be final! Giving just an idea of what you want to talk about will help attendees get a great sneak preview!
  3. Ready, set, go: On April 2, 2011, at 9:30 am, you get 60 seconds to pitch your session. This is your shining moment, to convince the attendees to share in the session topic you wish to lead. Be creative, be loud, but be quick!
  4. Attendees will vote on the proposed topics that interest them most. Each attendee gets 5 many votes. May your proposal be chosen!
  5. Go listen to the morning keynote session from Vinit Nijhawan, serial entrepreneur. We tally your votes.
  6. At 10:40, the beloved “wall of sessions” will be displayed. This indicates what sessions were chosen by the attendees. If your topic was chosen, the wall will indicate your assigned time and room for the session. Each session is 50 minutes long.

Don’t be shy, let us know what session topics are on your mind! We appreciate your participation, which is what makes ProductCamp so unique!
